I knew the United Church had compromised with the world and was rejecting its Christian Heritage, by encouraging its followers to ignore Christian teachings about the divinity of Christ and the veracity of his miracles, but this is the ultimate betrayal. With this move, the United Church has clearly ceased to be a Christian Church and, as Jonathan states, has become a synagogue of Satan. Jesus warned us that many would come in his name and preach false doctrine and that on jusgement day he would declare "I never knew you". All believing Christians must come out of that church or risk losing their own salvation. They must denounce this satanic activity and find a church that still adheres to the teachings of Jesus Christ.

It seems that "the way known to man" is ever enticing. We are so proud, always wanting to be the agents of our own salvation and never wanting to accept God's unmeritted grace. May God call his saints to perserverance in the face of this heresy and the many others. The wheat is being separated from the chaff.

I have no difficulty accepting that a practical righteous is necessary to get to heaven - "Without holiness no one will see the Lord' (Heb.12:14). However the essential aspect of reformed theology is that the required holiness, those good works, are not the ground but the evidence of salvation. The only righteousness that will gain us entrance into God's eternal kingdom, is the imputed righteousness of Christ gained for us at the cross. It is received by faith alone.

There are people who will always attempt to insert "the unfruitful works of darkness" into their soteriology. Proud man just has to have some part in his own salvation. That has always been the case among those who cannot come to terms with the futility of that pursuit. It seems so logical to their corrupt minds, wills and intellects.

Indeed, good works do flow from the regenerate redeemed -- but apart from the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, there is no possibility of good works emanating from man; good works that seek to glorify God rather than to work toward self-aggrandizement, which is what a works-based salvation salvation is grounded on.

We must give all the glory to God and none to ourselves. That is why the four and twenty elders cast their crowns before the feet of Jesus Christ in Rev. 4:10,11 and proclaim Him to receive all the glory.

Pastor, I too enjoy Richard Bennett's material. In the past, he was at a conference with Robert Zins and John Robbins, (and others) and that is where I had first heard him speak. If you don't have the CD I have an extra I would be happy to send to your Church. Let me know.

Keep up the fight against Rome's heresies.

I would like to offer a counter point.
Taxes allow us to buy things together. They allow a society to work towards a common goal, providing a level of services and helping out people in our communities who have been disenfranchised. Climate change and carbon taxes are a good example of that. Whether or not you 'believe' in climate change, the associated cost of dealing with refugees, disaster and famine, (should climate change show full force), will be exponentially higher than if we work at providing a tax base so that we can deal with situations in the future. I find it perfectly acceptable that we are extending our hand and helping the less fortunate in our global community. As one of the most wealthy and resource rich nations in the world, providing care for the poor to get a 'leg up' so that they may take care for themselves is the right thing to do. After all, WWJD?

this of coarse is quite the mystery to the average laymen. The political reteric and jargon goes far beyond most of us.

I want to know who disperses the copenhagan funds to... who and what gauranteed do we have how its used by the... ( recipients who ever they might be ) I was hoping this break for the government would be a comtemplating and meditating time on thse problems instead they have chosen to make a pretty hasty decision. Im guessing there in a corner with the liberal govt.

Praise be unto the Lord our Savior! In these deceptive times we must diligently PRAY; - Open mine eyes Lord, that I might see my enemy. Seek the Lord thy God each and every day and ask for his direction, especially in these dark days. Bless this kingdom called CANADA O Lord and guide us in the path of "righteousness" and "Holiness". Christians around Canada unite in oneness and seek his ( Christ Jesus) favor. PRAY Diligently.
